Call Of Duty Is No. 1 In Launch Month For 15 Years In A Row

For many many years now, Call of Duty has been a license to print money for Activision Blizzard as each annual entry in the series has been a blockbuster success story. October’s release kept that tradition alive as analyst firm the NPD Group has reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was last month’s best-selling title in the US in dollar sales, making the 2022 release the 15th consecutive year that a Call of Duty release has ranked as the best-selling game during its release month.

Gran Turismo Movie From District 9 Director Gets Release Date, Plot Synopsis

GameSpot can confirm the earlier report that District 9 director Neill Blomkamp will be adapting Sony’s Gran Turismo racing game series into a movie, due to arrive August 11, 2023. It was previously reported that this project might be a TV series, but that has turned out to not be the case.

The plot synopsis for the film reads, “Based on a true story, the film is the ultimate wish fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional race car driver.” While it might seem strange to adapt a video game and not use its plot, Gran Turismo doesn’t have a plot. It’s a racing game. At least the game is involved, though, unlike 2014’s Need for Speed.

Coyote sues the Acme Company for “85 separate occasions…[in which] certain products did cause him bodily injury due to defects in manufacture or improper cautionary labelling… Mr. Coyote is self-employed and thus not eligible for Workmen’s Compensation.” Dave Green (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows) will direct a screenplay from Samy Butch (Crown Prince)–though IMDb lists James Gunn as co-writer–in what is sure to be a fun and tongue-in-cheek film. No production start date or other cast information has yet been announced. It’s unclear if Cena will be playing or voicing an animated character.
